About Me
Hi, I’m Nikki – a passionate landscape photographer based in Canberra, Australia.
Born in Canberra and raised between Bungendore and Queanbeyan, I’ve always felt a deep connection to this region. In 2018, my husband and I, along with our dog daughter Harper, moved to Newcastle for a few years—but Canberra pulled us back in 2021. It’s funny how leaving makes you appreciate home even more.
Canberra truly has it all—vibrant seasonal changes, stunning sunsets and sunrises, and mountains that get a magical dusting of snow in winter (even if I’m not a winter fan myself!). We’re spoiled for adventure too, with the coast, snowfields, and Sydney all just a day trip away. Add in the rich culture, bustling café scene, and some of the best coffee around, and it’s hard not to fall in love with this place.
Now, onto what brings us here—photography.
My passion for capturing landscapes started young. We had a family caravan at Tomakin on the South Coast, where I took my very first "good" photo—a panoramic sunset over the Tomakin River. That image is still framed in my home and reminds me where this journey began.
Over the years, my photography has evolved to include aerial landscapes using my drone, which has opened up a whole new world of perspectives. Lately, I’ve also started experimenting with motion-blur seascapes—there’s always something new I’m eager to explore.
Through my lens, I aim to capture the beauty and emotion of the places I love most—whether it’s a quiet mountain range or a golden coastal sunrise.
